DESCRIPTION
Artist Guy Buseyne of Belgium created a diptych titled Retro cybus and Ante cybus. Two people are depicted in the image, and they are shown to be moving what appear to be very heavy blocks. These figurines have come together to accomplish a goal by pooling their individual skills and knowledge. This piece of art emphasizes the value of teamwork not only for fostering unity within a group, but also for improving individual health, morale, and productivity. Buseyne's sculptures depict individuals in a society beset by many threats—both natural and anthropogenic—and their efforts to prevail. The lack of specific face emotions in his drawings gives the pieces a more universal feel and encourages the viewer to find points of connection. The lost wax technique allows us to make bronze sculptures with incredible detail. Both the Ante cybus and Retro cybus sculptures are numbered and signed bronze editions. |
