Silhouette, Luca Scacchetti's seating collection, is more than just a silhouette. The profile of its shape, as formed by the interaction of shape and shadow, is the image that sticks in our minds.
It still appears anti-static from the outside, as though there is no actual connection between the seat and the back, creating an uneasy sense of balance. Both the wooden frame and the leather or fabric upholstered cushion feature a double-height profile.
This is repeated twice to emphasize its importance; it's as if the image of the sleek silhouette at the intersection of technology and refinement has been permanently etched into our brains.
Curving lines, resembling both a boomerang and a bird's wing, are reduced to their geometric essence and re-created on paper in a manner reminiscent of Leonardo da Vinci.
