Anna Castelli Ferrieri, an Italian architect and industrial designer, attended Milan Polytechnic from 1938 to 1943. She wed chemical engineer Giulio Castelli in 1943.

In 1949, he established Kartell with the aim of producing premium designer plastic furniture and home accessories.

Anna Castelli Ferrieri oversaw publication of the architecture publication Casabella costruzioni in 1946 and 1947. She started her own architecture firm in 1946.

Anna Castelli Ferrieri first attended the Congrès Internationale d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM) in 1949, the same year she helped found the conference. She started working at the Istituto Nazionale di Urbanistica in 1952.

Anna Castelli Ferrieri worked as a correspondent for "Architectural Design" from 1955 to 1960.

She established the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale in 1956. (ADI). Anna Castelli Ferrieri worked with architect Ignazio Gardella on multiple projects between 1959 and 1973.

These projects were mostly urban planning endeavors in the cities of Milan, Turin, and Genoa.

The Kartell corporate headquarters in Binasco (1966) and the facilities for the automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo in Arese were also under Anna Castelli Ferrieri's architectural purview (1970-72).

Since 1965, Anna Castelli Ferrieri has also been active in industrial design, creating products for Kartell and other companies including Apelli e Varesio, Artex, Lanerossi, Nirvana, Oltolinie, Sambonet, and Ycami.

Beginning in 1966, Anna Castelli Ferrieri worked at Kartell as a consultant in the field of design. Anna Castelli Ferrieri is known for her groundbreaking use of plastic in her design work.

Her "4970/84" stackable container pieces are constructed of ABS plastic and were designed by her in 1967. To maintain stability even with longer legs, Castelli Ferrieri created the "4822/44" stool in 1979, the first effective mix of metal and polyurethane.
