DESCRIPTION

The Mushroom is one of Eero’s oldest designs and in its fibreglass form is part of the same design family that includes the Ball Chair, Pastil and Tomato. It can be used as a stool or a small table. The fibreglass Mushroom was designed in 1967 by Eero Aarnio.

Eero Aarnio

A major figure in the development of contemporary furniture. Eero Aarnio broke away from conventional design in the 1960s by working with plastics, bright colors, and organic forms. The Ball chair (1963), Pastil chair (1968), and Bubble chair (1968) are just a few of his plastic masterpieces that have become cultural icons. In addition to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Aarnio's work can be found in the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany.
