Belgian sculptor and civil engineer Guido Deleu (1932) spent the majority of his career at Philips. After he retired, he settled down to focus on his art and sculpture. His creative education started at the Academy of Arts in Roeselare, and it continued with workshops in Carrara, Italy, where he learned marble carving. The ceramic and bronze works by Deleu are modern, elegant, and well-balanced; they would look great in almost any home. One of his most well-known works is The Visitor, a benevolent and approachable character whom anybody would be happy to meet.
