Sometimes the best design conversations happen right on the showroom floor.
Royal Interiors recently welcomed Architect Roberto Palomba to our Delta House showroom for an inspiring exchange on quality, design, and what comes next. Surrounded by the collections, the conversation moved easily between creativity, craftsmanship, and the future of design, the kind of discussion that is hard to have anywhere but among the pieces themselves.

Palomba is one of Italy's best-known contemporary designers. An architect by training, he studied in Rome and founded the Milan studio Palomba Serafini Associati in 1994 together with architect Ludovica Serafini. Since then the studio has worked across architecture, interiors, industrial design and yacht design, while Palomba has served as art director and consultant for leading names such as Zanotta, Kartell, Driade, Boffi and Foscarini. He has taught industrial design at the Politecnico di Milano since 2003, and his work has earned more than seventy international awards, among them the Compasso d'Oro, the Red Dot and the Good Design Award.
What stands out in his approach is a focus on longevity. The studio aims to design pieces that connect with the people who choose them, and most of what it has created since 1994 remains in production. Past and future sit together in one coherent language: contemporary in attitude, yet rooted in a deep understanding of design's history.
Among the pieces we shared was the Lama Chair, one of the select Palomba designs at Royal Interiors. Created by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for Zanotta, the chaise longue first appeared in 2006. A graphite-varnished steel frame carries a long, sculptural line in leather, and the result captures the creativity and thoughtful design that make Italian furniture so exceptional. Zanotta describes Lama as an icon of quality and artisan workmanship coupled with design, and the Palombas have worked with the brand since 2004.

The conversation sparked exciting ideas for collaboration, with a shared vision of bringing distinctive design experiences to Singapore.
Good design, after all, is made to be lived with, and some of the best ideas begin simply with a conversation.
If you would like to see the Lama Chair for yourself, we would love to welcome you at our Delta House or Tan Boon Liat Building showroom. Book a showroom visit or get in touch with our team to start the conversation.
Looking forward to what lies ahead.
